Tuber Sale Terms & Conditions
Thank you for choosing our small dahlia farm—we truly appreciate your support! We work hard to deliver healthy, accurately labeled tubers. Please review these terms carefully before ordering. Placing an order means you accept and agree to the policies outlined below.
Tuber Guarantee
We stand behind the following:
- Tubers are true to the named variety.
- Each tuber has at least one viable eye and arrives healthy.
This guarantee covers only the condition and viability at the time of shipment and upon arrival. We are not responsible for any problems that develop afterward, including (but not limited to) improper storage, planting technique, soil conditions, weather, pests, diseases, or overall plant performance.
Inspect your tubers right away when they arrive. If you believe any do not meet our guarantee, please contact us within 72 hours of delivery with clear photos. If we confirm an issue, your options are limited to:
- Replacement tuber(s), if available, or
- Refund of the purchase price of the affected tuber(s) only (shipping fees are non-refundable).
Tuber Appearance & Size
Dahlia tubers are living, natural products and vary widely in shape, size, color, and texture—even within the same variety and from one season to the next.
- Shape & looks: They may be long and thin, short and thick, twisted, lumpy, wrinkled, shriveled, or oddly formed. Colors typically range from light tan to brown, and surfaces can be smooth or rough. “Ugly” or irregular tubers are completely normal and do not indicate poor quality or future performance.
- Size: Sizes differ greatly depending on variety, weather, and growing conditions. Some varieties naturally produce smaller tubers; others larger ones. Bigger is not always better—healthy, true-to-variety plants and blooms can come from tubers of any size, provided they meet our guarantee (firm body, intact neck, at least one viable eye).
We ship only firm, healthy tubers with at least one visible eye, but we do not promise any specific size, shape, or uniform appearance. Appearance and size have no bearing on a tuber’s ability to grow, bloom true, or produce well in the future.
Refund Policy
All sales are final except in the specific situations described here.
- You have 72 hours from the moment your order is placed and confirmed to request a full refund for any reason. Requests must be sent by email within this window.
- After 72 hours, we cannot accept refund requests for change of mind, remorse, or similar reasons.
For issues covered under the Tuber Guarantee (damaged on arrival, no viable eyes, severely unhealthy, or clearly not true-to-variety): Contact us within 72 hours of delivery with photos. If verified, we’ll offer a replacement (if available) or refund of the tuber price only (shipping excluded). Claims after this window cannot be honored.
We do not refund for:
- Virus/disease issues or poor performance after planting
- Problems caused by storage, planting, growing conditions, weather, pests, etc. after delivery
- Claims reported outside the stated time frames
Approved refunds (either the 72-hour purchase window or valid guarantee claims) will be issued to your original payment method.
Virus Disclosure
Viruses are widespread in dahlias and can exist without visible symptoms. We follow good sanitation practices, cull suspect plants, and maintain clean stock, but we do not perform lab testing.
We cannot guarantee tubers are virus-free. Purchasing acknowledges and accepts this industry reality. No refunds, replacements, or credits will be given for suspected or confirmed virus issues or related plant performance.
Shipping Information
Tubers ship via USPS Priority Mail (or another carrier we select) to continental U.S. addresses only (no Alaska, Hawaii, or international shipping unless otherwise stated).
Shipping usually runs March–May, timed for your growing zone and safe planting weather. We aim to ship at the best time for your area but cannot promise exact dates.
Packages include insulation (e.g., vermiculite or shavings) for protection, but once the carrier accepts the package and provides tracking, responsibility passes to them.
Shipping Costs
Shipping is charged at a flat rate of $18.00 for your initial order.
For any subsequent orders placed to the same name and shipping address before April 1, 2026, we offer reduced shipping at $9.00 per additional order (this applies as long as the orders are processed separately during this promotional period).
After April 1, 2026, combined or reduced shipping will no longer be available, and all orders will be charged the standard flat rate of $18.00 each as they are fulfilled individually.
All shipping fees are non-refundable unless we cancel the entire order.
Cart & Inventory
Items in your cart are not held or reserved. Inventory is limited and sold first-come, first-served. Completing checkout secures your tubers. We may cancel or correct orders due to pricing mistakes, inventory errors, suspected fraud, or similar issues.
Substitutions
We do our best to ship exactly what you ordered. In rare cases (crop failure, storage loss, post-sale labeling issues, etc.), we may be unable to fulfill a specific variety.
We will not substitute a different variety. Instead, we will refund the full purchase price of the unavailable tuber(s) (excluding shipping) to your original payment method and notify you by email, usually before shipping. Unaffected portions of the order will ship as planned.
Replacements
Replacements are offered only under the Tuber Guarantee for tubers that arrive damaged, blind, or not true-to-variety (if stock is available). Replacements cover the original item only and do not include extra shipping costs unless the error is clearly ours (e.g., packing mistake).
Cancellations
You may request cancellation and a full refund within 72 hours of order confirmation for any reason by emailing us immediately. After 72 hours, we cannot accept cancellations or issue refunds for buyer-requested changes.
We reserve the right to cancel any order (with full refund) due to inventory shortages, payment problems, suspected fraud, or other reasons beyond our control. Once tubers have shipped, the sale is final (except for valid guarantee claims).
Shipping Delays or Lost Packages
We are not liable for carrier delays, lost packages, theft, or damage after handover. If issues arise, file a claim directly with the carrier using the tracking number (shipments are insured via the carrier).
